Applicants must meet basic requirements and undergo our customized vetting process to be invited into SB Works’ Advisor Network. Members of the Advisor Network have the option to be matched with work in one of two ways: subsidized, fixed-rate technical assistance projects or via referrals to businesses seeking a vendor for private contracting.
Applicants must provide a qualifications summary and proof of past success, as well as appropriate licensing and certification as applicable. Depending on the field, consultants may be required to provide a combination of the following:
DC-based businesses are given priority, as are those which are veteran or minority-owned.
SB Works is a low-cost pipeline for high quality work. Consultants have the choice to participate in subsidized technical assistance projects, the Referral Network, or both.
Subsidized Technical Assistance | SB Works secures clients, identifies manageable project scopes, and monitors impact
SB Works will provide a fixed hourly rate for services in these smaller projects, funding by a combination of grants and client contributions. No costs are incurred by the consultant to be assigned to these projects.
Referral Services | SB Works provides businesses with referrals for private contracts
Consultants contribute an annual membership fee for inclusion in the network, then negotiate their scope and terms independently. Annual membership fees are $150 for consultants. Consultants who join during the first year will receive introductory pricing of $99 for an annual membership.
